Rotation Activities Week 9 Term1

This week we have more balancing activities to build our gross motor skills and hand and eye co-ordination. Mrs Johnsen made a 'bug hunt' game which we use tweezers and tongs to collect bugs with. This is also great for our fine motor skills. Some of the other activities are the wood work table for construction, shapes to build pictures, cutting and pasting mini beast activities, dress-ups, stories on the ipads, literacy and numeracy games, and workshops with the teachers. Whew! What a busy time.

Rotation activities Week 8

This week we have introduced some new motor control activities for the children to do in the rotations. Kieran and Harper are using the balancing activities for gross motor control, whilst McKenna is doing a fine motor control activity.

On the ipads this week, Livi and the other students were woking on building their additions facts to 10. Ada took the opportunity to use the white boards to draw a fabulous stick insect. We have been looking at these as part of our topic and shared book this week.

We were all very excited to see the Kauri snail shell that Rachel's Dad had found. The children were impressed by its size and the shininess of the shell. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hurupaki Kindy's visit

Today we were very lucky to have our friends - Aria, Ollie, and Sammy - from Hurupaki Kindy visit for the morning. It was also very special as it was Dene's last visit with the kindy children before she has her baby. We all wish Dene the very best as she waits for that special little person to arrive.
